Shalimar India Restaurant
Shalimar India Restaurant is an established restaurant in Portsmouth, NH that was looking to revive and invigorate their old branding. The restaurant was completing an interior and exterior refresh, so it was a natural extension to update their branding too, which included a new website.
I helped take Shalimar to a bold new place visually, with a striking color palette with hints of motifs from Northern India. Their website received a grand update; becoming a much more user-friendly and engaging place that is a more accurate representation of the food and atmosphere of the restaurant.
Habibi Mediterranean Cafe
Habibi Mediterranean Cafe is brand new restaurant in Portsmouth, NH that I had the pleasure in developing their look. Beautiful aqua and blue tones with a pop of orange were used for their color palette, which is fresh and contemporary, while still giving a nod to traditional Mediterranean palettes.
Not only did I complete their print collateral such as menus, but I also built them a responsive website with Squarespace. This new restaurant will surely be a popular place to eat in town, as there gorgeous new look and scrumptious fare will likely attract any new customer.
Permanent Cosmetics by Jamilla
Permanent Cosmetics by Jamilla was a business that offered a superior product, but their visuals did not coincide with their level of expertise. I created a logomark and visual identity that is professional, clean, and that resonates with Jamilla’s client base. The inspiration behind the mark is that of a transformative flower which is very much like the transformative work Jamilla performs in her business. Because she uses tiny dots of pigment to create her work, this became a major element in her design, both in the logomark and elsewhere.
The color palette of grays, pinks, and creams were chosen to evoke the level of expertise Jamilla has, as well being careful not to appear overly gaudy or flashy, which some of her competitors seem to express. The result is a professional yet friendly identity that better suits her business, and Jamilla has seen tremendous growth in her business because of the redesign.
I was beyond excited to get to work on musician Shep Gold’s branding and website. Shep is a Portland musician that makes no-nonsense, extremely well-written songs, so it was important to us to represent not only his song craftsmanship but his tireless work ethic as best as we could see fit visually.
Not only did I have the honor of developing his visual identity and website, I was also smitten with the chance of working on his album packaging. Shep recently self-released his album, Penny on the Table, and it needed to not only be original sonically, but the presentation needed to catch people’s eyes too. We found a neat solution with custom cd holders from Stumptown Printers that are also very eco-friendly. Check it out!
Salon Solutions is a software company that looked to me to design their brand and website. This start up focuses on the Salon Industry—whether that means hair stylist professionals, Facial Spas, or even Permanent Cosmetics shops—this software was tailored to these businesses. For their brand we wanted a mix of soft and feminine, since Salons are often thought of as a female-centric place, but also with a tech-y edge as well, due to the nature of the product. A muted color palette that is friendly, subtly feminine, and professional was developed for them, which suits their brand to a tee.
The custom logomark, paired with typefaces that are both soft and more angular make a perfect fit. This product fills a niche market, and we think their unique logo will make them instantly recognizable in the industry. Their web products also draw on this simple, bold, user-friendly look which make navigating their offerings a breeze. I was thrilled to work on this project and super excited to see where it lands!
Brentwood Dental Designs
I was asked to design a brand for a dental practice in Epping, NH—Brentwood Dental Designs. Drawing on their eco-friendly practices and a strong propensity towards clean lines (not to mention teeth!), I think this logo and the corresponding branding is a perfect match for this new dental practice. A solid look and messaging was conceived to set them apart from their competition.
I kept the palette to soft greens and blues, to hint at the eco side of their business but not over power the look. Friendly, genuine, and softly rounded type was chosen to convey their professional practice that complements the nature of their profession. I am proud of the work for this dental practice that “Creates Beautiful Smiles. For Life.”
Hillary Kang from Mèche Salon opened her own gorgeous salon in Exeter, NH and was in need of a logo and business cards for this new business. Like Hillary’s sharp eye for hair design, the visuals for Mèche needed to be much like Hillary’s own aesthetic: clean, sophisticated, and sneakily bold.
I decided to stick to a limited color palette for maximum impact. The business card also doubles as an appointment card. Hillary was as pleased with the results as I was; this logomark has a beautiful simplicity that I was proud to create for Hillary and Mèche.
Re|So is a “Relocation & Lifestyle Service Company of the Sports, Entertainment and Corporate world” that needed to construct a brand and website for them to bring their company to life (online). I developed their brand identity and mobile-responsive website using a luxurious color palette of black, gold, and white. I chose a minimal route, so that the logo would really stand out on its own and become part of their unique identity, just as their unique business stands out in its field.
This brand is all about providing premier customer service to their clients in a straightforward, helpful manner so it made sense that their branding and website needed to reflect that. Featuring gorgeous images and a succinct one-page design, their website is as pretty to look at as it is informative. This Atlanta, GA-based company now has the tools to showcase their stellar brand and take it to great heights.
